Locum Official Veterinarian - Export - Food Standards Scotland

VetPro Recruitment is recruiting for a Locum Official Veterinarian (Export) on behalf of Food Standards Scotland (FSS).
Quality Pork Processors (QPP) have approval for export of product to China. Conditions of the Chinese export approval require the attendance of a fully qualified OV to monitor and verify the packing process of product within the cutting and packing part of the FBO process. This is a separate role from the OV in the slaughterhouse operation and is not part of routine export certification; it is a dedicated role to monitor the packing process for Chinese Export for which specific guidance and protocols will be trained.
This is a specific application of the OV in the cutting and packing part of the FBO operation in order to ensure the FBO complies with the requirements for Chinese export specifications and conditions.
The role is based in Angus, Scotland.
FSS are ideally looking for a locum who can start on or as close as possible to 28/04/25 and the role will be for 11 months from the start date.
This role is Monday to Friday, 4 hours per day from 2pm – 6pm
As well as a drivers license, applicants must be MRCVS qualified and hold the OV (Red/White/Game) qualification. Daily rate is negotiable on application and there is also an allowance towards accommodation.
