Looking for a Veterinary Surgeon to work in a truly mixed dairy-beef-sheep 3-branch practice based in Mid Ulster, Northern Ireland with some 1st opinion small animal work. Supportive and friendly team of 8 Veterinary Surgeons of which 4 have 20 years’+ experience. Enormously dedicated Veterinary Nursing (4 RVN and 2 SVN) team and Support team of 8 with 2 of the Vets working towards a certificate. Two of the Vets do only small animals, the rest of the team do a bit of everything including routine farm work, health and fertility visits, emergency obstetrics, Tb-testing, small animal consults and operations (if desired). All the work is equally shared and there is also the opportunity to do some 1st opinion equine work.The standard full-time Vet rota consists of a 43-hour week, working 1 in 4 weekends with a long weekend off in lieu the following week. There is an OOH requirement to work 1 night per week on call, in the winter months and 1 night per week every fortnight, in summer months. Open to part time applications and flexible working arrangements, ensuring the right fit for the team and the applicant. Usual equipment for both farm and small animal practice including easy scan/small animal ultrasound, IDEXX lab station, microscope, Ovacyte, x-ray, endoscope, ECG, kennelling/stabling facilities, cattle crush and pen, small ruminant operating table, and a horse stock.
