Looking for an adventurous and passionate Veterinary Surgeon looking to explore the fascinating world of Exotic animals on an 18 month fixed term contract at a Well Established RCVS Accredited Mixed Animal Practice Vet Group in Nottinghamshire. The role offers an extraordinary opportunity to immerse yourself in the captivating Zoo/Exotics field, along with honing your skills within Farm and Small Animal it will allow a great and varied caseload. The role will be based between two practices which allows for a range of experience and variety of workload during the 18-month contract. With state-of-the-art facilities and a dynamic team the key responsibilities will include; Mixed species veterinary duties, consultations, small and large animal surgical procedures, minor procedures, client liaison, working up cases, caring for hospitalised animals, treatment plans and visits, OV work, OOH work and new graduate support and back up. Working alongside the experienced Zoo/Exotics team and caring for an intriguing portfolio of well-established Zoo clients. Majestic mammals to captivating exotic species, every day will be filled with excitement and adventure. There is a flexible rota – the practice can accommodate fixed or flexible patterns and are committed to finding the ideal solution that suits your needs. The existing rota is Monday - Friday 8:30am – 6/7pm. 2:6 OOH weekends and 1 weekday OOH. Additional Saturday morning shifts (8:30am - 12pm). The ideal candidate will have experience across companion and large animal species, excellent communication and organizational skills. While prior Zoo experience is not essential, it would be eagerly welcomed enthusiasm and passion for the world of Exotics. The vet group provides services for farm and small animal clients as well as wildlife parks and equine clients. The well-equipped practice boasts cutting-edge tools such as ultrasound with Doppler and ECG, digital DR Xray, dental Xray, video endoscopy, and a full internal lab.
